Promoting tech for good innovators creating a positive impact

Impact Interview: Adam Good, Founder of Auric Essentials

Welcome to Global Good’s Impact Interview series. This interview series is designed to tell the stories of the people and companies working to drive impact in society.

In this interview, we will hear from Auric Essentials, a health and wellness startup behind a state-of-the-art, AI-powered personal essential oil diffuser and mobile app.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your role?

I’m Adam Good, the founder of Auric Essentials. At Auric, we’re tapping into the untapped – combining the ancient wisdom of aromatherapy with cutting-edge AI technology to deliver a personalised wellness experience. My role is to steer this vision into a scalable reality, overseeing everything from technology development to market outreach.

How did your company come about, and what was its motivation?

The spark for Auric was lit when I saw the gap between what traditional wellness solutions offered and what the modern individual needed. Stress and mental well-being are global crises, yet our approach to them is often impersonal and not adaptive. Auric aims to fill this gap by offering personalised, intuitive, and practical solutions for a balanced and healthier life.

Can you describe your mission and values?

Our mission is to democratise wellness through the power of essential oils and intelligent technology. We value Innovation, Inclusivity, and Individuality. Auric is not just another wellness product; it is a movement. We are focused on delivering tailored solutions spanning a few diverse demographics, from busy professionals to students and seniors.

What are some of the most pressing social issues that Auric is working to address through its technology?

We aim to impact the stress and the mental and well-being crisis significantly. Our technology enables a unique form of self-care that uses natural essential oils to address anxiety, focus, sleep quality, and overall well-being. By making this tailored wellness accessible, we hope to create a ripple effect that helps people achieve a balanced life, which is often elusive in our fast-paced society.

How does your company measure the impact of its work in creating positive change?

We are data-driven and user-focused. We use metrics such as user engagement rates, stress reduction levels, sleep quality improvement, and overall well-being scores. Moreover, we’re continuously refining our AI algorithms based on these metrics to ensure our solutions are increasingly effective.

In your opinion, what impact will technology have in creating a better future?

Technology can serve as the bridge between age-old wisdom and contemporary needs. It has the potential to make personalised wellness accessible to everyone, regardless of their age, location, or socioeconomic status. If directed responsibly, technology can drastically enhance our collective well-being, solving challenges at a scale and speed previously thought impossible.

What advice do you have for other companies looking to use tech for good and positively impact the world?

Don’t just innovate for the sake of innovation. Start with a genuine problem affecting people’s lives and use technology to solve it effectively. Make sure your solutions are scalable and accessible to spread the impact. Most importantly, focus on the user and their evolving needs because that’s where the real impact is made.

Auric Essentials was selected as a Top 10 Mental Health and Wellbeing Finalist of the Super Connect for Good Competition 2023 powered by Empact Ventures and Hays
