The winners of the recent Humanitarian Crisis Hackathon are set to develop a solution that will ensure aid parcels are delivered to the front line of Ukraine. The application will then be further developed and rolled out to support other crisis zones.
Presidium Network, the UK non-profit organisation, worked with Hays, the world’s leading specialist in workforce solutions and recruitment, to create the Humanitarian Crisis Hackathon, which was hosted on Hays and Showcode’s CodeCo platform.
The hackathon was created after Presidium Network recognised the need to create a more efficient way of connecting key stakeholders involved in aid parcel logistics. The challenge was driven and launched to help the people of Ukraine.
The hackathon received several high-quality submissions, with two teams ultimately winning the competition. Although the winning teams submitted separate solutions that tackled different issues, together they will deliver an ideal solution that will help to create a humanitarian app that will help save lives.

Team PresiDev created the Presidium Platform, an innovative web platform for the Presidium Network to efficiently manage supplies for end users, operational hubs, donors, suppliers, and delivery teams in areas of conflict. While Team Aid Parcel’s winning solution is a platform consisting of three applications, a mobile application for donors; a mobile application for delivery drivers and operational hub workers; and a web application to administer the other two applications.
Both teams will now work together and with Presidium Network to continue building the solution to get it rolled out onto the front line, where it will make an immediate positive impact. The winners will also be supported in their personal development, with increased opportunities for them to assist in their career development.

We can now build on and further develop these two amazing prototypes to create the world’s first transparent humanitarian logistics app to help deliver aid more efficiently.
